Just been sitting here thinking about our vacations to Massachusetts last year. Missing the peacefulness of the country; the smells, the beautiful trees, flowers and the views. I feel it's beckoning to me to come back to that place of tranquility. No worrying about school, cleaning, washing clothes (well, within reason....), work of any kind. Sigh. It's amazing how much an impression places can make on you. There was not the normal things we would do for entertainment at home. No TV or computer was a biggy! Barely a telephone. Gasp! We did puzzles - LOTS of puzzles. Helped the kids with their golf swings. Played baseball. Played in the river. Some of the best memories we have made as a family! And we made some wonderful friends there. Can't wait to see them again! So thankful for the blessing of friendship! God is so good!
There is a picture of the back porch of the place where we stayed. Lots of long conversations happened there. We rarely ate inside. It was too beautiful to stay inside! Anna Grace and I read "I Love You, Ronnie." She was completely fascinated by Ronald & Nancy Reagan. I know when we go back we will have to read some of it again.
I wish we were a more musical family. The house needed some music. Not the kind from the I Pod. A violin and guitar. Maybe a piano. NOTE TO SELF: FIND PIANO FOR FREE! :) I loved having the windows open and hearing the crickets and whippoorwills at night. I just plain miss vacation time period!
